Days of strong winds hinder the removal of leaf litter and re-sanding of courts.

The northern base line of court 4 was re-sanded on Saturday the 18-Aug-18 (as above left) but because of strong winds over the weekend, most of the surface sand has been blown away. This is Monday the 20-Aug-18, two days later (above right).

The eastern fence line of court 4 (shown above) then to the right with most of the surface sand blown away within 2 days (above right). The strong winds still persisting on Monday the 20th Aug 18.

Sand and leaf litter has now accumulated on the western fence line of court 5 and is in need of maintenance work. You can see the dam effect (above) when dirt and leaf litter is not cleaned from under the fence line base bar.

A similar scenario to that of court 5 in that excessive sand in corners of court 1 mixed with leaf litter and in other places we have no sand at all on the playing surface.

Turned up Tuesday the 21st Aug 18, to find large amounts of leaf litter on courts 1 and 5, making them unplayable. Attempted to remove the litter but the strong winds kept blowing the leaf litter back to the cleaned area.
Time taken to remove debris from under fence line between courts 1 and 2, plus the back fence line of court 1, then progressively blow the debris to the position shown in above graphics is 30 min.
The forecast is for the strong winds to subside from Wednesday 22nd, so will attempt to remove debris on Wednesday.
A new batch of Newcastle or Sydney sand has been ordered from Narellan Sand & Soil, delivered Monday the 20 Aug 18.
